Diploma in Computer Science, Bachelor’s Degree in Intelligent Systems Engineering, Certified Associate in Project Management.
How are your qualification(s) or training useful in your everyday job?
Qualifications and training provided me with reasonable expectations of the tasks to be carried on, knowledge on managing problems and improved my overall problem solving, work efficiency and communication skills.
What does an average working day look like for you?
Meetings with stakeholders, data exploration, coding, dashboards and reports creation, and presentations.
What aspect of your role do you most enjoy?
I find creating dashboards and reports enjoyable because I can design and fine-tune visualisations that are tailored to the stakeholders’ needs. During this process, each stakeholder brings a unique perspective, providing valuable and honest feedback that helps me enhance the quality of my work. This, in turn, allows me to grow and expand my thinking in my career.
What aspect of your job do you find most challenging?
I would consider data exploration the most challenging aspect. It involves analysing, processing, and interpreting the collected data in relation to the current business needs. This task is both interesting and challenging because it requires various approaches to data transformation depending on the specific business requirements and issues. In simpler terms, different needs call for different analysis methods and procedures.
What would be your top piece of advice for anyone wanting to become a data analyst?
My top piece of advice for anyone to become a data analyst would be to always be proactive. This line of work heavily focuses on exploring and analyzing data which can be overwhelming sometimes. Being proactive and passionate would help you to break down huge problems to smaller chunks and will be motivating you to always strive for progress whether it is successful or not. Mistakes will teach you valuable lessons while success will motivate you to continue striving for the best.
