Tim Q.

Hello, my name is Tim and I specialise in helping students with A level biology and all 3 sciences at GCSE. I studied Genetics at Newcastle University follwed by a Masters in Molecular Biology at the University of Cambridge. I also have a PGCE in secondary science teaching and over 20 years tutoring experience. I currently work in a research and devlopment role for a pharmaceutical company so my scientific expertise comes both from the classroom and the world of industry.

I have a very relaxed, informal approach. I strongly believe that tuition should not just mirror what goes on in the classroom and the best results can be achieved when good relationships are built up. I try to avoid straightforward 'lecturing' (although sometimes this is necessary) and ecourage dialogue with plenty of questions and input from the student.
