I structure my lessons in the way that my students can learn best, so I feel it is important to always start off by having a conversation in which we determine the best learning techniques. For example, visual learners often learn very well through diagrams and videos. Regardless of learning technique, I like to focus on understanding the fundamentals of a topic and getting in a lot of practise with past paper questions.

My lessons focus on an understanding-based approach. From my own experience in education, without a deeper understanding of the subject, students struggle to tackle exam-style questions due to the application-based style exam boards favour nowadays. Moreover, by gaining a firmer understanding of a concept, students tend to build longer term memories with these concepts and perform better under exam conditions.

I like to tutor very interactively with my students, conversing with them about their gaps in knowledge and adapting my teaching techniques to fit their preferred method of learning as I believe students should have the most control over how I guide their educational experience. Homework mainly consists of past-paper questions and textbook exercises to make sure students have understood a topic with consistent feedback always being given from myself.
