Currently teach Chemistry at GCSE and A Level and have done so for the past thirteen years. Have previously held the post of Head of Chemistry, Head of Department and more recently was Head of Year. Prior to teaching, worked in industry, based in food manufacturing for many years. My move to education was prompted by a yearning to make a more positive contribution to the world and through my teaching, I really enjoy the opportunity to do that, supporting students as they develop and grow.

Working in collaboration with my tutee, I like to establish their expectations and needs from the outset - this helps set the agenda for the sessions that follow. With strong subject knowledge and extensive classroom experience, I aim to make my tutee feel at ease immediately so they feel comfortable to ask questions throughout, clarifying any misconceptions and addressing knowledge gaps. All of my sessions are supported with past exam questions, to ensure consolidated knowledge is assessed in real time.
