I studied Biology and Chemistry at A-level, achieving AA respectively. In year 11, I achieved 7-9 in all my GCSEs. My interest is in STEM subjects, particularly biology, and I hope to help students and motivate them towards a STEM-related career.

During my A-levels, I mentored A-level Chemistry students where I helped the students consolidate the work and practise questions as I believe the key to success is continuous exam practice. I also have experience teaching primary school children too and I know how to simplify the work in order for them to understand. I enjoy teaching and passing down tips and tricks to younger students. We all learn from our mistakes and I am happy to show students where they went wrong and how to improve from them.

I also am able to provide guidance on the application process for medical applicants - from the UCAT to interviews. This can be done through mock interview practice and providing tips for the UCAT.

My lessons will be catered to the individual. My initial lesson will work as a way for me to learn more about the student. We will discuss what the student knows about their work and where they believe they need help to improve. From there, my lessons will be planned meticulously to meet the student's needs and goals. With a key focus on exam practice and technique, I will help students reach their best potential!

After I've gathered enough information on the student about what they would like to focus on, I plan my lessons according to their learning styles. I understand the importance of breaking things down and not overwhelming students, so I focus on a topic at a time until both the student and I are happy with their understanding. My lessons usually start with a mini quiz at the beginning to gather what they know about the content so far before I teach the topic itself. I like to be interactive which means the lessons I conduct are more discussion-based. This results in the students feeling more open to ask any questions they have and also allows me to thoroughly check that they have picked up the content. Once I have taught the content, my next focus is to practise exam questions with the students. I will first check the approach and understanding of the question and then mark their answers with them. I believe exam practice is the key to success and so a large portion of my sessions are based on this. At the very end of the session, I will discuss with the student what they would like to cover next as well as identify the areas for improvement and their strengths.
