I have worked for 3 years teaching physics to high-prior attaining pupils at GCSE and A-Level, with 92% of my pupils achieving Grades 6 or above at GCSE (53% above Grade 8). I have many years of experience working as a physics and maths tutor both online and face-to-face and I currently examine GCSE Physics. Every year I successfully coach pupils through Oxbridge Admissions. I am committed to supporting a diverse range of pupils and have completed specialist training working with pupils with SEN, particularly Autism and ADHD, and LGBTQ+ identities.

Prior to my teaching career, I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a First Class Honours in Natural Sciences. I pursued a varied career in academia and industry with positions in presitiguous institutions that include Caltech and the University of Bristol. I am a certified volcano nerd!

My students know me to be a friendly, enthusiastic and respectable practicioner and value how my wide range of experiences allows me to make both myself and the taught content engaging and relatable to them.

My teaching style is based around using diagnostic questioning to assess the prior learning of my students and to identify areas of weakness. I then design specific, effective and personalised resources that build on my student's existing understanding while challenging their misconceptions. My lessons are highly engaging and very interactive, involving constant written and spoken dialogue between myself and my tutee. This allows me to adapt to the needs of my student and helps them to develop critical thinking and communication skills. Pupils receive constant support during this process to develop the knowledge, confidence and resilience they need to succeed in their examinations and beyond.
