I’ve recently graduated from the University of Bristol in Environmental Literature after an undergraduate degree from the University of Oxford in English Language and Literature. I have 4+ years of tutoring experience and have taught English Language and Literature in a secondary school in London. Crucially, this role allows me to access teaching resources for both GCSE and A-Level students, which I can bring into my one-to-one tutoring sessions online. I’m happy to tutor all ages in English and History, as well as provide advice and help with university applications (such as personal statements). 

I’ve previously worked both within Oxford’s outreach systems and as an English Tutor, which I greatly enjoyed. I’m happy to talk and advise on any fears or concerns Oxbridge candidates have prior to their application. I also have training as a CELTA teacher, so am able to take on a few EFL students if desirable. 

Ultimately, in my sessions, I aim to inspire an enthusiasm for and love of the subject, as well as help with knowledge and exam skills. Please message me if you'd like a lesson and we can arrange a time for our first session!

My tutoring style is fairly flexible, which I find helps me adjust to the particular needs of the student I’m working with. I use content and exam questions provided by the curriculum, as well as planning and creating lessons from texts and methods that appeal to the individual tutee. There will be some homework to complete outside of tutoring sessions, which I will subsequently go over at the beginning of the next session. Equally, if the student/parent request no homework, then this is also possible.
