In the past 15 years, I've been actively engaged in the Education sector, instructing students aged 11-19 in subjects like Biology, Chemistry, and Physics across various academic levels. My teaching experience spans Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, AS and A2 Level Biology, IB ESS and Biology, and BTEC Level 2 and 3. I have 12 years of experience tutoring students privately both face to face and online. I like to get to know the students and help build their confidence in the subject through developing their skills and understanding. This helps them access the exam questions and apply their knowledge. Previous successes include one student improving form a D to an A, and another from B to A*. Many of the students I have tutored have gone on to teach Medicine.

To start with I like to speak to the students and really get to know them. I'll ask if there is any topics they particularly struggle with and ask them questions around certain topics to get a guage of how well they understand them. I try to take a relaxed approach so that students feel comfortable with me and are not afriad to apply themselves to new concepts and get questions wrong. We all learn from mistakes. My lessons focus on exam techniques and developing skills within the students for the exams and future studies, helping them build their confidence.
