I have a strong passion for psychology, which I studied to degree level, and have found even greater fufillment in tutoring the subject. With experience tutoring throughout my degree and continuing post-grad, I have taught over 60 hours and find each session incredibly rewarding. I am patient and friendly, tailoring each lesson to meet the student's individual needs. This may be focusing on content, tackling exam questions or developing effective revision strategies. 

With a deep knowledge of psychology, I enjoy adding extra depth to topics to enhance understanding. I am skilled in helping those who may be struggling as well as providing the support needed for others to elevate their grades from good to excellent.

My first session will focus on getting to know the student, understanding their aims, strengths and weaknesses. I always begin by going over content that needs revising or explaining. To check understanding I ensure this is engaging by asking recap questions and assessing key concepts. I try to keep it simple but covering the required content initially. Often exam questions is an issue, so will go over exam structure and then do plenty of practice ones. Another way to improve exam practice is analysing the markschemes to ensure the student knows that the examiner wants, and looking at model answers. Whilst I always know what needs covering, my lessons are adaptable to what the student needs that day.
