I graduated from The University of Cambridge in 2021 with a Triple First in Natural Sciences MSci and have now moved on to The University of Oxford, where I am studying for a PhD in Atmospheric Physics. Outside of work, I play football and tennis and have just started singing in my College Choir.

My recent experience of and links to these top universities, and the top grades I achieved there, puts me in an excellent position to help students reach their full potential, improving their A-Level grades and making sure they receive offers from the universities they deserve to go to. I specialise in Chemistry and Physics, as well as interview preparation, admissions tests (PAT and NSAA) and personal statement help.

I’m always calm, friendly, and upbeat, as I believe positivity is the best way to make a student want to improve their performance. When students have a problem, I ask them what they already know, give them a little more information, and then help them get to the answer on their own. This is much more beneficial than spoon-feeding.

When I start tutoring a student, I’ll ask about their current attainment and we’ll set goals; some will be long-term (such as achieving a certain grade), whereas others will be shorter-term (understanding a particular concept, maybe). Every few sessions we’ll revisit these goals to discuss how they are going. Ticking off achievements ensures a student feels that they are making progress.

I like to tailor my sessions to each student: I’m happy to assist with homework, go over topics that were taught in class but not fully understood, or provide additional problems. For some subjects, I have diagrams or notes that I have prepared, which I use and the student will have full access to. Depending on the needs of the student and what they want out of our tutorials, I may set some work to be completed between sessions, which we can talk through once completed.

I understand what it’s like to be a student and will tailor my tutorials to each student’s needs.
