Hi! I'm Laura, an experienced English tutor with a passion for helping students achieve their dream grades. I hold a 2:1 BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Warwick (2020) and have over six years of tutoring experience. I work with students ranging from Year 7 to Year 13, guiding them through their educational journey. I also have experience tutoring students for the 11+ and 13+ common entrance exams, so far with a 100% success rate; I can provide a list of schools my students have been accepted into upon request.

I tutor full-time and am dedicated to helping students achieve the success they deserve. I’ve published revision guides for Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and Jekyll and Hyde. I also have a social media presence on TikTok where I offer tips and advice to help students prepare for their GCSEs.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading both classic and contemporary texts and poetry. I volunteer at my local Girlguiding unit and am currently working on my next revision guide.

My approach is to create an engaging and encouraging environment where students can focus and learn effectively. I tailor each session to the individual's needs, whether it’s analysing a text, honing exam technique, or learning to write a well-crafted essay.

I believe in keeping sessions relatively informal and encouraging discussion, rather than mimicking the rigid, presentation-style lesson structure often used in schools. This approach helps students develop their own ideas and interpretations, building their confidence and enabling them to approach exams with strong analytical skills and the ability to impress the examiner.
