Hi, my names Kayleigh and I'm a recent chemistry graduate from the University of Birmingham. I currently work in a high-achieving grammar school in Birmingham. My current role is to prepare and deliver the practical side of the AQA Alevel chemistry course, working closely with students. I think the practical side of the course is extremely important for allowing students to not only practise their lab techniques (which are examined), but also to see results for themselves! I also hold 1:1 lessons for students who are struggling with aspects of the course, creating a friendly and engaging environment with outstanding improvement. I'm also a helping hand for any students applying to university to help them weigh out their options and encourage them to grab hold of all the opportunities available to them.

In my spare time, I enjoy many local music events with my friends, cooking (mainly pasta dishes), and exercising.

A UNIQUE, ENGAGING TUTORING EXPERIENCE.

My teaching style is very different to others, with proven results. As a tutor, I will not be providing boring PowerPoint slides with tonnes of information, we will do things very differently!

We focus more on 'learning through exam technique', in which I will provide you with exam question packs created specifically to the AQA exam board, topic by topic. I will also send over my own specialied notes. Not only are we looking at content in these lessons, but also vital exam technique. This is a method of mine that has been trialed and tested and proven to have the best results. It's a much more interactive and engaging way of learning, whilst also approaching exam style questions. My lessons are very well structured and will be made personalised to you by evaluating your strengths and weaknesses. They will also include things such as 'starter activities' and 'matchups' to check your progress. This progress will be documented and tracked by me throughout lessons so I know which sections we may need to come back to. My written method mark schemes will be sent through at the end of the session so students can check back on anything they've missed, and I'm available by email at any time with problems or questions you may have. There is also an option to have set homework, in which I can provide further questions for students to recap. Any homework issues will be resolved together.
