I am an experienced A-level physics lecturer with 15 years of classroom experience and an examiner for AQA. I completed my joint honours Physics and Computer Science Bachelor’s degree at Manchester University, which I followed up with 2 years of doing research on ablating stars in the field of Astrophysics. I am presently completing an MSc at the Open University, focusing on Space and Quantum physics. I love sharing my own enthusiasm for science with my students, and this is shown in the. I coordinate the A-level science team at my place of work. I hold a PGCE (distinction) at Manchester Metropolitan University and am a Fully Qualified Teacher status with a completed induction year (QTS). All my students have either met or exceeded their MEGs.

Having had a varied life has allowed me to develop a lot of anecdotes and a deep understanding of the world that I can bring to my teaching. It is my experience that students enjoy hearing stories that solidify their learning through examples. 

I have taught most of the specifications, but have focused on AQA and OCR A, but also teach WJEC, Eduqas, Edexcel and the International Baccalaureate.

I grew up in Sweden, although born in England. I speak both languages fluently. I chose to teach after 25 years in the IT industry, leaving it at the top as the European Head of IT for one of the largest specialist chemical companies in the world. All of this has led me to a huge appreciation of multi-culturalism, and I love travelling and I have friends around the globe, who I get to visit regularly.

I enjoy gaming (TTRPGs, chess and boardgames), reading trade and fictional books, especially Sci-Fi, and I love Heavy Metal and Symphonic Metal music, especially live. I have two children and, at present, 2 grandchildren, which entertain me endlessly.

I like to use humour and a lot of interaction. I provide Q&A with examples to work on. Paced at the students level, and with self-marking online homework. I am ambitious for my students and very supportive.
