With over 20 years experience working as a science educator across a wide range of platforms, from school teacher to home tutor as well as working as a science educator at a range of international renowned institutions such as the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh and SciTech science museum in Perth Australia. I am passionate about making science education accessible to all and bringing curiosity into the classroom, to help students develop a deeper understanding of concepts and theories that will help them reach their full academic potential.

I hold a BSc, MSc and PhD in Chemistry and Biology related subjects and have published a number of scientific papers in my chosen field. I previously worked for 15 years as a science researcher in both Australia and the UK, before transitioning to teaching in a full time capacity in 2014. In 2016 I gained a PGCE in secondary education from Sheffield Hallam University and worked as a Science teacher for 4 years, with a specialism in Chemistry education, and subsequently moved into full time private tuition, which I have been doing since 2019.

I teach all Science subjects (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and Maths from Key Stage 3 to A level (including iGCSE and iAlevel), and in most of the main exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR), working with students on scientific theory as well as revision techniques and exam skills.

Since 2019 I have specialised in online teaching, which allows me to bring high quality science education to a wider audience, with students in the UK and across the globe including Europe, China, Indonesia, South Africa, and Dubai. My clients have included private students as well as working with school groups and further education establishments, providing both traditional private tuition and homeschooling.

Each and every student has their own individual academic needs and learning style, and as such my tuition methods reflect this. I tailor my tuition sessions to both the student and the subject, meaning that each student gets their own unique lessons adapted to their own unique style of learning. With many years of experience in the field of education I am able to draw on this during the lessons to constantly adapt and keep evolving my style as my students grow with confidence and ability.  

In addition I bring to the classrom my extensive past experience of working as a scientist and science communicator, which allows me to bring the subject to life. Combining this with online interactive tools including whiteboards and simulators, the student has the ability to contribute to their own learning, and explore topics in depth, making the lessons engaging as well as educational. 

Being an online tutor allows me to draw on an almost infinite range of resources on the internet to help find the right tools to support each student on their learning journey.
