Hello, my name is Hamzah and I am a fourth-year medical student at Imperial College London, currently intercalating in Anaesthetics and Critical Care. I have been tutoring GCSE and A-level sciences (and helping with medical school applications) for the last three years, making me an experienced, professional and goal-oriented tutor. I believe the best way to study science is to make it enjoyable and rewarding. As someone with a passion for it, I appeal to the needs and desires of my students to help them get what they want out of sessions, focussing on specific weaknesses and highlighting common pitfalls in the exams. As a medical student, I have developed excellent patience and communication, making me very approachable and comforting. I aim to foster the fullest potential in my students and give them the edge over their peers. From my experience, I understand how competitive it is to get into high-demand programs at university.

I tailor my tutorials to the needs and demands of my student. I like to discuss their goals and circumstances, their future prospects and their progress towards making this a reality. Understanding the thought-processes of my student helps me guage their level of interest and allows us to create lesson plans together. My style is goal and solution-oriented. I aim to work with the student, as opposed to for them, to work out a plan and map-out the course structure and particularly difficult areas. We will work systematically, often refreshing our knowledge by testing content from previous topics, ensuring maximal retention. I will encourage and empower them to come up with their own answers and reasoning before going through the model structure. This approach is heavily supported, by current understanding of teaching techniques, to create a healthy, enjoyable and positive learning environment.
