I have taught in a wide range of schools both in the UK and overseas, having spent 6 years in New Zealand. Additionally, I have been actively involved in home education, covering KS3 English and Science, moving to GCSE Science , for my daughter at home. I specialise in Geography but have considerable experience at A Level and GCSE Economics, and have taught all humanities subjects at KS3. My teaching is based on practical learning, using examples from around the world including many that I have seen on my travels. I aim to build rapport with students to allow them to develop as much as they can. As a pastoral leader, former Careers Adviser and former Head of Sixth Form, I am able to provide students with impartial but targetted advice and huidance regarding careers, next steps such as University, and the application process should this be required. 

Lessons are carried out through explanation using real life examples followed up by exam style questions to consolidate learning. Review of work carried out shapes following lessons while errors or misconceptions are identified and resolved immediately. Lessons are aimed to be fun and informative using a collaborative style. When I meet a student for the first time, I aim to understand their motivations and learing style as quickly as possible since this will enable productive partnerships to flourish. 

Learning should be fun and relevant. I aim to support all of my lessons, be they A Level Geography or Economics, GCSE subjects or even KS 3, using real world examples, relevant to the student. If you are in London, I'll use my knowledge of London to make that lesson come alive. Likewise, if you are in Yorkshire, Wales, or even New Zealand, expect to find something you know in our sessions.
