Hello! I’m Fatma, a Statistics graduate from the University of Glasgow and maths tutor. I’m currently an MSc. student at the University of Leeds. My experience ranges from children as young as 4 years old all the way up to GCSE so I’ve tutored all different kinds of learners. I love maths and I really enjoy sharing this with students and helping you see that it’s nothing to be afraid of. I’m here not only to teach you content and exam technique, but also to help you build up your confidence so that you’ll feel brave enough to tackle any learning challenge you might face!

I take a gentle but disciplined approach to tutoring, showing patience and kindness to my students. When it comes to students who are not confident in their abilities or who find a subject intimidating, there is no use in putting more pressure on them and giving them more negative feelings to associate with that subject. When guiding students through questions I teach them to take a careful step-by-step approach which consists of reading the question carefully, circling key information, thinking about what topic the question ties to, and recalling their knowledge of that topic. I always maintain a patient and encouraging tone with my student, in order for them to feel comfortable to ask questions.
