I am a highly experienced tutor, teacher, analyst, researcher textbook and course writer and translator with over 7 years of experience in multiple subjects, including Mathematics and Economics.

I took my undergraduate studies at the University of Warwick and Sciences Po Paris in PPE, moving towards mathematics and philosophy, proceeding to do my graduate studies at the Sorbonne and the University of Paris. I have worked as a tutor, teacher, consultant, textbook writer and course designer, translator, research assistant in cognitive science and philosophy, and a business analyst for translation and software firms.

A fairly unique aspect of my background is my intense combination of depth and breath in multiple areas. Thus my studies and research have occupied a space of intersection of mathematics, linguistics and philosophy, yet I also have an extensive and intensive background in related humanities and social sciences.

Coming from an international background with a linguist/translator/interpreter mother and engineer father, I have an appreciation for ranges of interpretation, and am fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese and German. I also teach Latin and Ancient Greek.

Aside from these interests, I love literature, music, and cinema.

Our sessions will be oriented around study and discussion of a set of key sources/texts. I will assume that you have done some research of the topic yourself, having looked at least at the primary sources for our session. I will query you on your impressions and independent thoughts of the content. I will provide feedback on this and then we will dive systematically back into the primary text, guided perhaps by key secondary sources along the way.

The first target is analytical and foundational. Whatever the material, the aim is guiding the student towards fluency in the material. I will not walk the student through, but I will do everything I can to help them think through the problem for themselves. Ultimately, the real teachers are the students themselves. We will hence start with the key concepts, sources, and methods of analysis. We will use examples to fortify this knowledge, and we will follow this up with critical analysis of further examples and problems. Clearly, the nature of our analysis and critique will vary importantly from subject to subject, and topic to topic. Nevertheless my method is based on ensuring that your have the tools necessary to think analytically and constructively no matter the subject.
