Every student is different and there cannot be one approach that works for all. I aim to be as adaptable as possible to suit the learning style of each student, but there will always be a fundamental basis of instructional approaches that emphasise guidance of the student learning process. This means not only telling the students what to do, but also why it's important. This encompasses exam technique, common mistakes in answers, and getting students to act as an assessor to analyse high quality and low quality answers. It's important to me that my students enjoy the time they spend in lessons, and so I also try and establish a positive rapport with them, and aim to learn about their ambitions beyond the subject.
