I am currently working as a Secondary School teacher for an online school, where I teach Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Geography to KS3-5. Prior to this, I worked for five years in Secondary Schools in West Yorkshire. I am also an Examiner for both Chemistry and Geography, marking both GCSE and A Level papers each summer, meaning I maintain a current knowledge of the curriculum and can provide advice on exam technique. I have access to a huge stock resources to help your child succeed in the subject they are studying. 

I have been tutoring online for the past nine years and have tutored over 1500 hours over just the past two years, and am excellently reviewed by students and parents. As well as tutoring Chemistry and Geography, I can also teach GCSE and A Level Biology, and GCSE Triple Science and Mathematics. Over the past few years, 85% of my students in school and 100% of my tutees have achieved their predicted grade or higher, some jumping several grades. I have helped several students gain Grade 9s at GCSE or A* at A Level, and has also helped students who were originally predicted to fail an exam manage to pass. 

Before working as a teacher, I spent two years working for a charity sending tutors to schools in deprived areas. I have worked with EAL students and students with various SEN needs, such as autism and helping students with barriers to learning, such as dyslexia. I also specialise in students that suffer with mental health difficulties, having been a Pastoral Lead in the past. I deliver my lessons in an approachable and empathetic way, always encouraging students to make an attempt, challenge themselves and learn from mistakes. 

Lessons can be tailored to fit your individual needs. Students can turn up to a lesson with questions prepared on a particular topic, but it is also fine if they are not sure where their weaknesses are. I have many past exam questions, drills and problems that can help identify areas where students are struggling and help them understand concepts they are unsure of.

I general, I spend sessions partly going through content, then consolidating this with exam questions. I always ensure a student has fully understood a concept before moving on, and am happy to stay on a topic as long as it takes for a student to feel confident with it. 

I fully believe that students having confidence in themselves and their ability is the most important tool for their success, so I base all my tuition on fostering a supportive environment where students feel safe making mistakes and are encouraged for their achievements.
