I'm Barbara, my pronouns are she/her. I am a highly experienced Mathematics teacher with over 30 years of teaching and pastoral care experience. I have taught GCSE and A level Mathematics exam classes in UK state schools, as well as A level Further Mathematics, most recently for the 2024 exams. Maths is a subject which many learners find difficult and inaccessible. I break down problems into easier steps, supporting learners to get the grade they need for the future. I can offer bespoke lessons including exam preparation and teaching new content. 

The learners' needs are at the heart of my teaching. Lessons will be designed to fit your level of understanding. I use graphical tablets to explaing problems and content cleary.

I have extensive training in adaptive teaching especially for neurodiverse learners. I am experienced in designing and delivering teaching for learners with ADHD and autism spectrum disorder. 

In my teaching career, I have developed techniques to support learners with exam anxiety by generating a relaxing and calm atmosphere in my lessons and providing learners with the tools they need to succeed in the exam environment. 

I have gained excellent online teaching skills during 2020-2022, live streaming my lessons from home or the classroom, using a range of techniques to engage remote learners.
