Ash is a friendly and welcoming educator specializing in biology, chemistry, and mathematics at GCSE and A-level (or equivalent). He has coached a number of students to Seconday Education, GCSE and A-Level success and takes pride in tailoring his approach to each individual student, also providing mentoring and study skills coaching to help students develop effective study habits, time management techniques, and problem-solving abilities.

Ash graduated the University of Bath with a first class BSc and MSc in Chemistry in 2019 before moving to work in the biopharmaceutical industry. This set him up with a comprehensive knowledge base in the life sciences and mathematics that he seamlessly translates into engaging and accessible lessons.

Recognizing that the key to effective learning lies in building a strong rapport with his students, Ashley creates a positive and supportive environment in which questions are encouraged, and challenges are met with enthusiasm. Outside of tutoring, Ash is a keen cook, baker, golfer and tennis player.

I strive to create a welcoming yet focused environment where students feel at ease to ask questions, challenge themselves, and make mistakes. Over my 6 years of tutoring experience, I've found that this approach is essential for building a productive tutor-student relationship. It's important for students to feel relaxed and heard. In online tutoring, it's crucial to get students talking and working, and online whiteboards are excellent for this purpose. Encouraging students to read questions, write answers, and draw diagrams helps maintain engagement. Using a variety of question styles and resources also helps keep their focus. Additionally, I make it a point to keep open communication with parents or guardians whenever possible.
