I am a qualified teacher with over 13 years experience teaching English. I am presently working as the Lead Teacher of English, where I teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 / iGCSE / Entry Level English. I am also qualified through the government's National Qualifications for Teaching (Leading Teacher Development) and hold Chartered Teacher Status.

I have served as an examiner for AQA and Eduqas for Language and Literature between 2017 and 2024. In 2024, I began training with both Cambridge and Pearson for iGCSE. I am an approved examiner for AQA 2024 with credentials. 

As an experienced tutor, I am dedicated to helping my students achieve their academic goals and excel in their studies. I particularly enjoy using technology as an effective teaching tool and I'm currently studying with Oxford University to enhance my skills in delivering distance learning.

I am passionate about teaching English and helping my students develop a love of learning. I specialise in challenging students and tutees to grades 7-9 and providing intensive intervention for those requiring grades 4-5. I achieve this as an examiner, ensuring that students understand how to attain high levels on the mark schemes by knowing what the examiners expect to see from student responses. 

Some students are passing in English yet require support to reach grades 7-9: focusing on critical thinking, refined writing skills and an understanding of authorial intent. Other students may need extra assistance in acquiring the skills necessary to achieve a grade 4 or 5 in English, particularly concerning time management or structuring clear responses.

I conduct a baseline assessment, feedback and create a bespoke plan tailored to each student's learning journey, depending on their individual needs and timelines.
