Our one-day A Level Chemistry exam technique course will get students primed and ready for exam day.
During the programme, our tutors – themselves professional examiners – will equip students with the knowledge and skills to maximise their marks and avoid the common pitfalls that cost them. They’ll learn how to answer different question types effectively, from multiple choice and calculation questions to those daunting long-answer ones – which typically require careful evaluation before answering. What’s more, our tutors will work with students on their time management skills, ensuring they’re working at a productive pace when they sit their paper instead of racing against the clock.
Students will leave this course feeling prepared and polished, ready to take on their A Level Chemistry Exam with confidence.

Classes are from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Registration starts from 9.15am.
There will be a 1 hour lunch break and a couple of 10 minute breaks in the morning and afternoon.

After completing her degree and PGCE, she transitioned to mainstream schools in Birmingham. Today, Shehla is Lead Practitioner in her school and holds TEEP Level 3 training, highlighting her expertise in teaching and learning methodologies. Her commitment to understanding the intricacies of student learning is evident in her master’s degree research, which focused on how students learn and ways to improve information retrieval for assessments.
Shehla takes a meticulous approach to tutoring. She gauges her students’ knowledge and understanding through worked examples and links to the curriculum specification, ensuring they have a solid foundation before moving on to the nuances of exam technique.
Rob graduated from the University of Southampton with a first-class master’s degree in Chemistry. He has been teaching for over six years and currently serves as the head of chemistry at a large secondary school in Hampshire. He’s been teaching the subject at A Level for his entire career, giving him a thorough knowledge of OCR exam board specifications.
Rob is passionate about his subject, in particular, organic chemistry and how it provides a toolkit to synthesise medicines and materials that shape our lives today and in the future. His teaching style focuses on the importance of precision of knowledge and helping his students develop context-based understanding and application skills using past paper questions. When he’s not teaching or tutoring GCSE, IGCSE and A Level Chemistry students, Rob enjoys taking to the stage in plays and musicals across the south coast.
Tim, a highly experienced science teacher holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), has a passion for inspiring students in the realms of chemistry, physics, and biology. With an incredibly diverse teaching background that spans private and comprehensive schools, single and co-educational setups, and international schools, Tim brings adaptability and versatility to the learning environment. In addition to his classroom teaching, over the past 15 years, Tim has also been an online tutor, guiding students to achieve the grades needed for their college or university aspirations. From exam preparation to teaching entire courses for home-schooled students, he is committed to personalised and effective education. Tim’s lessons have consistently earned outstanding feedback, which reflects his dedication to fostering a love for science and ensuring academic success.
As a French native educated in the UK, Tim’s multicultural background enriches his teaching approach. Fluent in Thai and conversational in Spanish, he brings a global perspective to learning. His commitment to continuous learning is evident in his current venture learning Portuguese, further enhancing his cross-cultural understanding. Beyond the classroom, Tim is a passionate traveller, avid reader, and music enthusiast.
